"189 riders at 7:30, Wardour Street. Too much filtering through traffic by some people early on. No cycle police. No bike lifting or chanting before 9pm when I left.
It was a good ride, corking skills seem to be back to pre-police-control standards. Going down Park Lane made a good point I thought, as this is such a treacherous road on an average day." Jeff.

"Certainly not lonely, but it looked like it was the only sound-system on Friday's ride.
Having arrived late at 7pm to an empty Southbank (the mass had loooong-gone), I spent 30mins running around with some familiar faces and playing mobile-phone relay trying to catch up with the mass. We finally caught up with the mass chasing up Wardour Street and then on Oxford Street heading east into New Oxford Street. For the record, and if you've never had the pleasure, it can be a _huuuuugely_ difficult task to catch up with CM if you miss the start.
Playlist, for anyone interested, is below. Amusingly, after the request "pleeeeease skip 'Flashdance' " was honored, there was an immediate follow-up request for "...and what's wrong with Flashdance?" by another rider.
My favourite track was "Phuture Assassins - Forever" for the pure classic hardcore sound, without cheese, and also "Alive and Kicking - Simple Minds"... but if the vote is on passionately appreciative comments received, then "Tears For Fears - Everybody wants to rule the world" wins hands-down, and understandably so.
I find that creating a playlist for CM is an impossibly difficult task, so if anyone has any requests, feedback, or entire playlists on offer, please do, either via this list or directly." WBSS
